Our athletics program embraces the No Barriers' mindset of "What's within you is stronger than what's in your way."
The South Bergen Jointure Commission empowers students to unlock their full potential and cultivate lifelong happiness. We believe athletics is an essential tool in this journey, fostering leadership, healthy habits, and strong social-communication skills that students carry throughout their lives.
These skills don't just benefit students on the field, but serve as a foundation for success throughout their lives. By actively participating in athletics, students gain valuable experiences that can translate into greater engagement in extracurricular activities once they return to their home districts. It fosters a sense of belonging, social connection, and leadership within their school and their communities.
Just like in the classroom, inclusion drives our athletics program: we celebrate and differentiate to serve the unique skills and abilities of every student. Our vision is ambitious: to become a competitor in multiple leagues, from NJSIAA to Special Olympics. This means expanding our programming to offer diverse challenges and celebrate every victory, big or small.
Cross Country - Fall Season
Athletes push their limits and explore the outdoors when participating in Cross Country in the fall, building their endurance, teamwork, and resilience through long-distance running. By training alongside dedicated coaches, tackling varied outdoor terrains from 1 to 3.5 miles, students challenge themselves physically and mentally.Bowling - Winter Season
Athletes hit the lanes in this winter sport that's more than just strikes and spares—students practice drills, hone their skills, build strength and gross motor skills all while engaging in strategic thinking and problem-solving. Bowling fosters a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie as students practice at Lodi Lanes under the guidance of our coaching staff.Basketball - Winter Season
The sport's demanding nature, requiring speed, agility, and tactical thinking, teaches our students to work together with their teammates. The competitive spirit of basketball naturally encourages respect for opponents and adherence to fair play, shaping strong sportsmanship and social skills that transcends the court.Track and Field - Spring Season
Partnering with Wood- Ridge High School, our students are immersed in the world of this multifaceted sport while training on a state-of-the-art track. Under expert guidance, they hone their endurance, agility, and flexibility through targeted training, experiencing firsthand the excitement of various track and field events.
