Dear SBJC Community,In compliance with the Bergen County Health Department mandate, the South Bergen Jointure Commission schools will be closed as of 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020 through March 27, 2020. Thank you for all the hard work and preparation you have put into the development of our Distance Learning student packets.
Please note that starting Monday, March 16, the South Bergen Jointure Commission will operate on a modified schedule. Our Lodi and Maywood Campus buildings will be open from 8:30 a.m - 12:30 p.m. daily during regularly scheduled school days and school principals and secretaries will be in the buildings at these times. The South Bergen Jointure Commission Board Office will be open 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. daily during regularly scheduled school days.
Teachers, outreach staff, and paraprofessionals are not required to report to their assigned campuses, but are to be available via phone/internet during the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. daily. Any staff wishing to work in the building and/or access resources are welcome to do so. Please note, at any given time during this shut-down period, staff may be asked to report in-person as needed in compliance with all health mandates.
As a precautionary measure, our Prime Time/East Rutherford Campus will be housed at our Lodi Campus during this time.
Attached you will find the SBJC Distance Learning Contingency Plan & Staff Protocol. This document was developed over the past week and refined today at an administrative meeting. PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY, as it outlines your duties as a staff member during the next two weeks. Please remember that you are working over this period of time and we all must retain fidelity to our work expectations.
All information and Staff Resources related to this school closure can be found by going to our district website www.njsbjc.org, clicking the COVID-19 tab, and then clicking on Staff Resources. The information and resources provided on our website will continue to be updated as needed and we encourage all families to check for these updates on a regular basis.
I cannot thank you enough for the collaboration and dedication you consistently exhibit each and every day.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael Kuchar
